Designed for use in a small- to medium-sized shared office or workspace, this machine provides a number of different connectivity options as well as high-resolution outputs. Features and Functionality
As a stand-alone printer, the Brother DCP-8080DN is able produce results with up to 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution at 32 pages per minute. Automatic two-sided printing is an option for in-house documents or monochrome brochures and book pages. Paper is supplied to the Brother DCP-8080DN from a 250-sheet paper tray that can be adjusted for use with both legal and letter paper. Envelopes, transparencies, letterhead, and other non-standard media can be fed into the 50-sheet multipurpose tray. Larger offices can upgrade the paper trays to include a second 250-sheet cassette.
For copying purposes, the DCP-8080DN offers walk-up flatbed features with legal-size document glass as well as a 50-page automatic document feeder. Users don't have to connect to a computer to access the copier, and can even scan and print directly from the USB flash memory drive. Copy results are the same as those with the printer, with 32 copies per minute and a 1200 x 1200 resolution as well as additional options to sort up to 99 copies at a time.
As a scanner, the DCP-8080DN can send documents as PDF or JPEG files either directly to the computer or to the USB flash memory drive. The machine offers an interpolated scanning dpi of up to 19200 x 19200, with an optical resolution of 600 x 2400 dpi. Unlike the copy and print portion of the DCP-8080DN, scanning is offered in full color.
As a monochrome printer and copier, all DCP-8080DN toner comes in standard Black only. High-yield DCP-8080DN cartridge options allow you to get the most money out of your investment, especially since the TN650 cartridge can yield up to 8,000 pages of use. The smaller option, the TN620 cartridge, also produces great results at up to 3,000 pages of use.
Part of the reason the DCP-8080DN is such a great machine for a busy office or workgroup is its ability to connect to a variety of users without sacrificing print quality. In addition to a standard USB port, users can use the network-ready Ethernet drive. Storage on the machine is also fairly large at 64MB of memory, which can be upgraded to 576MB for larger print jobs.
